Welcome Address for World environment day 5 june 2024 Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed members of the Institution of Engineers Indian Kuwait Chapter, and distinguished guests. It is with great pleasure and a sense of profound responsibility that I welcome you all to this auspicious occasion of World Environment Day celebration here at Rigai Park. Today, as we gather among the lush greenery surroundings of this beautiful park, we are not just commemorating an annual event; we are reaffirming our commitment to safeguarding our planet and securing a sustainable future for generations to come. World Environment Day holds a special significance in our hearts. It serves as a emotional reminder of our collective duty to protect and preserve the delicate balance of nature. As engineers, we understand better than most the difficult interplay between human activities and the environment. We recognize that our innovations and advancements must not come at the expense of Mother Nature's gifts. Today's celebration is not merely symbolic; it is a call to action. It is a call to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty, quite literally, as we engage in tree plantation and park surrounding cleaning activities. These small yet meaningful gestures serve as a testament to our dedication to environmental conservation. As we plant trees, we are not just adding to the green canopy; we are investing in the future, providing habitats for wildlife, mitigating climate change, and enhancing the quality of air we breathe. As we clean up our surroundings, we are not just removing litter; we are restoring the natural beauty of our environment and creating spaces where communities can succeed. But let us not forget that our efforts cannot end with today's celebration. Environmental is a lifelong commitment—a journey that requires sustained dedication, innovation, and collaboration. It is compulsory upon each one of us to incorporate environmentally responsible practices into our daily lives, whether it's reducing waste, conserving energy, or supporting for policy changes that prioritize sustainability. In closing, I urge you all to embrace the spirit of World Environment Day not just today but every day. Let us be the architects of a greener, cleaner, and stronger world. Together, let us flag the way for a brighter tomorrow As a symbol of our commitment, today we will plant some trees in the area, guided by Eng Karthikeyan, our treasurer. The cleaning activity will be overseen by Eng Sudhir Menghani, our honorary secretary. Let's join hands to protect the environment for a better tomorrow. Thank you.
